What is a (ND) Naturopathic Doctor?
Naturopaths are trained in the holistic (mind,body,spirit) approach to wellness.
Naturopaths serve to compliment your medical care NOT to replace it.
My mentors have taught me about the philosophy of REGENERATION*. Yin and Yang
are the ancient Chinese symbols of negative and positive. A traditional Chinese belief
holds that the 5 elements found in nature correspond to the 5 body systems and that
when the positive and negative forces of these elements are balanced,health is
regenerated from within.
A persons illness is often a wake up call that the body is out of balance and their illness is
often the beginning of a journey into the discovery of what it is that is making them sick or
what it is that will allow them to heal themselves.
We have 5 major systems in our body and if one is not working properly the other 4
systems are over worked. Take the example of a team of 5 horses and one is lame, the
other 4 have to compensate. Our 5 major systems are: Immune, Circulatory, Endocrine,
Digestive, and Respiratory.
More and more people are wanting to be in control of their own health. It just takes a little
know how.
Having been in the health care industry all of my adult life, I recognize the fact that
prevention is seriously lacking in our health care delivery system.
